Hat -trick hero

This weekend saw a hero stand out for his team and help lead them to a very important victory.

A hat trick hero described by one of his former coaches as one of the best all round strikers he has worked with is very high praise indeed.

The player in question is one who is well known to the GCFA social media team and has been a stand out player in the Glasgow Colleges Football Association for the past few seasons.

his name is Shane Jackson.

Name – Shane Jackson

Club – Nethercraigs

Position  – Striker

Shane officially joined Nethercraigs in the final few months of last season and the experienced striker has had a huge impact since arriving.

Not only is Shane a top quality striker but he is an all round good guy who brings a wealth of experience to the club and his positive attitude always shines through.

Jackson is not only a good striker, he has shown his versatility throughout his career by being able to play in most of the attacking areas on the pitch.

PREVIOUS CLUBS ?

Shane has played for a number of previous clubs throughout his career including teams from the junior game like Benburb, Irvine Vics and Thornliewood.

In the amateur ranks he had spells with Dumbarton Accies and Southside AFC

The talismanic striker helped the team to victories over the Saturday morning AFA and the Aberdeenshire AFA.

Unfortunately the Select team’s heroics were put to an end in the final of the inter select tournament when the team lost to the SPAFA League select team.

After getting to know shane we ask him a few questions about his Nethercraigs teammates for a little bit of fun.

Mon the nerries.

We caught up with Shanes current manager David Boyd for some thoughts on the player.

Shane Jackson since coming in has been a breath of fresh air. Always at training works his socks off, has been a stand in captain and has started the season flying with goals, assists and work rate.

Thanks to Nethercraigs and Shane Jackson for their help with this weeks Hat trick hero.

It is always brilliant to feature a player who really enjoys his football and plays the game with a smile on his face.

Well Done to Shane for his fantastic achievement and we hope their are more goals to come from him before this season ends.
