The GCFA Premier League has wasted no time serving up storylines, and one gaffer has stolen the spotlight. Two games, two wins, and a fearless approach that’s shaken up the top flight. August’s first Manager of the Month has set the bar sky high — proving that promotion doesn’t mean playing catch-up, it means making a statement.

Footy focus GCFA Premier Division Manager of the month for August is David Buchanan of Cambuslang Milan who has won two games out of two during the month.

This was a big month for the Milan boss and he and his squad have come through it with flying colours.

What is more surprising is that Cambuslang Milan are only recently promoted to the Premier League and they have had an incredible start to life in the higher division.

Cambuslang Milan manager David Buchanan had these comments to make after winning this prestigious award.

“It’s been a fantastic start for the team in the top flight across the full squad showing that we have came up to be competitive and not making the numbers up as a promoted side. As a team over the last few weeks togetherness shown from everyone has been incredible and personally couldn’t ask for anymore than shown!

We had a superb start against Clydebank Red Star in particularly the second half where we were at our best and punished them for it given us such an emphatic win!

Tough early morning start up at Lennoxtown against a very experienced Clydeside team showed the other side of our game to battle hard for 90 minutes to get all 3pts!

The boys can be proud of their efforts to start the season and has given an extremely good platform to go and build on this starting with a tricky away Scottish tie against AS Airdrie!

August’s story has been written by a promoted side making waves at the very highest level. The first Manager of the Month award shows that fearlessness, organisation, and belief can carry you far — even against the established names.

If this is what they can do in their opening month, just imagine what lies ahead. The GCFA Premier League is alive and kicking — and the drama has only just begun.
