Match Report: PSP v Corinthians

The game began with both sides probing for an early advantage. PSP had the first sight of goal on five minutes when they won a free kick 20 yards out. Mickie stepped up, but his effort was comfortably saved by the Corinthians goalkeeper.
Corinthians responded on 14 minutes with a dangerous free kick from the right, but Duggan’s header was deflected for a corner that PSP cleared. Two minutes later, PSP looked to break through the middle, though the final ball ran out of play.

The breakthrough came on 19 minutes, when a misplaced pass at the back was seized upon by Corinthians. A quick through ball was played forward and clinically finished to put the visitors ahead.
PSP rallied and went close shortly after. On 23 minutes, Chrissie collected a short throw on the right, cut inside his marker, but fired across goal and wide. Gal also threatened with a strong run down the right, though his cross failed to find a teammate. Mickie’s deliveries continued to test the Corinthians defence, with a cross on 29 minutes smothered by the keeper, followed by another searching ball just beyond Chrissie on 35 minutes.
A booking for Chrissie on 36 minutes halted his momentum, but PSP finished the half strongly. On 44 minutes, Gorlach’s cross was met by Gal, who attempted an audacious overhead kick. Then, on the stroke of half-time, Gorlach linked up with Jordan Grant down the left, and Grant’s strike squeezed past the keeper to bring PSP level at 1–1.

Mickie continued to be a creative outlet, whipping in dangerous deliveries from set-pieces, while Colin’s powerful run on 70 minutes brought a free kick that came to nothing. Two minutes later, Mickie’s long-range strike was pushed wide by the keeper.
The game swung again in the 79th minute. Mickie’s free kick caused problems, and when Alan’s effort was parried, Gal was brought down inside the box. The referee pointed to the spot, and Sammie calmly dispatched the penalty into the bottom corner to make it 2–2.

Both sides pressed for a winner, but it was Corinthians who struck late. On 87 minutes, a cross from the right led to a double save from Jonnie, but the rebound was eventually forced home to restore their advantage at 3–2.
Corinthians were reduced to 10 men in the closing minutes after their No. 3 received a second yellow card. PSP almost took advantage in stoppage time, when Chrissie powered through the middle and unleashed a thunderous strike that beat the keeper but cannoned off the crossbar. The rebound was cleared, and the final whistle confirmed Corinthians’ narrow 3–2 victory.
