#GCFAAlive

The scoreline nobody saw coming…
Every week throws up surprises, but this one takes the crown. A result that has shaken up the GCFA and left players, spectators, and rival clubs double-checking the scoreline.
Whether it’s a giant-killing upset, a last-minute screamer, a red-card meltdown, or a shock transfer twist, this feature delivers the story everyone’s talking about. If it made fans’ jaws drop and shook up the GCFA, you’ll find it here.
Social Media HQ have decided to go for Cambuslang Milan beating Clydebank Red Star 5-0 as our Shock of the week.
This full-time result could easily have been ‘Result of the Week’, but the emphatic scoreline sealed it as our Shock of the Week.
#ShockOfTheWeek

Cambuslang Milan beating Clydebank Red Star is not a major shock in itself it is more the fact that they convincingly beat their rivals so comfortably.
Many book makers might have had a home win on the cards but we highly doubt many would have predicted a 5-0 victory.

THOUGHTS FROM GAFFER David Buchanan
Due to unforeseen circumstances we had a delayed start to our league campaign having fallen two league games behind to all the other competitors in the set up and lack of match day action so we knew it was going to be a tough start facing anyone! Never mind the side that put 6 past us in second last league game of last season.
We started the match quite slowly but had the best chance of the game when Kieran Lawson chopped past the full back but failed to put the ball into the net as he ran one on one. We then weathered the storm for the next 20 minutes as Clydebank Red Star had their foot firmly on the game and slightly against the run of play a great break up the pitch saw Vinny Gillespie square ball to John Dempster for his first of the game. We came in at half time discussed a few things and got ourselves motivated to go and give one of our strongest performances we’ve seen for Camby Milan! Second half we totally dominated the game and got our second goal from a corner that was knocked on at front post for Dec Healy to header in to make it 2-0! It was quickly 3-0 when again another set piece found its way to Aaron McFadyen who slotted in! It was soon to be 4/0 when Clydebank came up the pitch we made a great interception at edge of our box and Aaron McFadyen received the ball and played a goal opening pass to John Dempster who raced towards goal done the defender inside and put into the top left corner. John wasn’t done there when he got his hattrick in the game! Great Camby move again came down the right hand side fed into Ben Hardie who squared back to John to complete his hattrick and make it 5-0 on the day!
Considering the start to the game we were very slow we did find our way into the match and never looked back! All 16 players that were involved all played their part and showed us the levels we know that are required to compete at the very top stage as well in the GCFA! Really delighted to get 3pts on the board and for so many top performances across the team was great also! Let’s hope we can keep this up going forward into the next stage of the season
