On Thursday night we had a massive game that helped define one clubs season in the Glasgow Colleges Football Association.

We had a play off match to see who would make it into the Championship and who would be going to the Conference league

Thursday night would need a hero but just who would be the man to step up and propel his club into the promised land.

Two new GCFA clubs went head to head for the right to play their football in the Championship and unfortunately for one club there could only be one winner.

A hero did indeed step up and that hero was Goalkeeper Josh Kane who plays in goals for Netherton AFC

Netherton AFC v Queens Park SFC

Josh Kane last night made not one but two penalty saves in shoot out and not content with saving penalties he even scored the winning penalty kick for his team.

Well done to the man of the moment Josh on stepping and taking responsibility when his team needed him the most.

Congratulations to Netherton AFC and the squad for overcoming some adversity and booking their place in the Championship after a two game battle with Queens Park SFC.
