From back to front, this week’s GCFA Squad of the Week is stacked with standouts. Every name on the teamsheet nominated by their club & earned their spot through grit, skill, and game-changing moments – here’s the players who lit up GCFA Saturday morning football last weekend .

SQUAD OF THE WEEK – WEEK TWO

GOALKEEPERS

GK – Callum Moffat – BUSBY AFC

Callum started the match as left back but after us going down to 10 men with our keeper seeing red he took the gloves and made some great saves at 2-1 to keep us in the game even heard a shout from the pgbc sidelines hes better than your actual keeper 🤣🤣

DEF – Ross Madden – CLYDEBANK SMFC

Solid performance at the back and it had to be with our keeper going off injured. Limited the opposition to very few chances.

DEF – Jude McKenna – FC REMO

Jude has settled in very well over the past two games, stepping into centre-back while a few lads have been away on holiday. For just turning 17, he shows real composure on the ball and his background in high-level football with the likes of Airdrie is clear to see. Jude isn’t afraid of a challenge and makes excellent use of his size and physical presence.

DEF – Jordan Kinnaird – PARK SPORTS PROJECT

The centre back was rock solid in defence for his team today, Playing Clydeside away is never an easy experience but Kinnard strolled it at the back.

DEF – Kev Harrity – SOUTHSIDE UNITED

Kevin has been superb the past week 3 brilliant performances and adding goals and assist every week almost , leads the team by example.

DEF – Ross Campbell – GREATER CROFTPARK ROSE

Ross is full of endeavour and always putting in a tremendous shift and Saturday was no different. He also provided a lovely piece of skill when scoring a delicate dink over the keeper.

DEF – Paul Mooney – GREATER CROFTPARK ROSE

Paul played an integral part of the defence against a very tricky front line on Saturday.

The defender was just so calm on the ball finding his man at all times and showing an array of different passing ranges.

Mooney defended very well throughout the game and helped lead his team to a massive victory.

DEF – Scott Taylor – CLYDEBANK SMFC

Scott has come in this season and started very well. Does the defending bit but always finds himself on the end of a through ball higher up the pitch.

DEF – Jacob Kennedy CORINTHIANS

Jacob showed some engine on Saturday and gave us a real option up front. His final delivery was excellent and led to a goal.

DEF – John Rowan – TORYGLEN THISTLE

John controlled toryglens back line and showed great composure carrying the ball out from the back.

DEF – Connor Moan – FC REMO

put in an outstanding performance on Wednesday night against Cambuslang Football Academy, earning a well-deserved Man of the Match award. He stood his ground throughout the game, showing real determination in his defensive duels and ensuring nothing got past him. Since joining Remo—after turning down an opportunity to step into Junior football—Connor has settled in brilliantly and continues to impress.

DEF – Ryan Clark – THIRD LANARK

Strong first 3 games for the left back who looks sharper and sharper each game. A terrific assist last Tuesday for the first goal & a comfortable game out on the left once a change in formation happened for Saturdays draw.

DEF – Aidan Hay – WOODBANK FC

MOTM on Saturday , man mountain on the day and all round great performance.

DEF – David Sinclair – RHU COLTS

David was solid at the back against River Nevis, The strong centre back won every header and never let his opponents settle.

MID – Jordan Grant – PARK SPORTS PROJECT

The midfielder was just superb on Saturday and is becoming a real leader in the PSP team. Jordan is a top player and he proved that on Saturday.

MID – Ross McKenna – RHU COLTS

Ross had an excellent game in midfield against River Nevis , The midfielder topped off his performance with a fine goal which helped kill off the opposition.

MID – Stephen McFall – WOODBANK FC

on another day could have had a hattrick but got his goal he deserved after a influential performance

MID – Logan Campbell – TORYGLEN THISTLE

Logan was outstanding at breaking up the play and starting toryglens attacks. He really helped his team out when they needed it.

DEF – Lewis Hobbs – THIRD LANARK

Lewis is another player who’s featured in all 3 competitive games so far. Terrific on the ball and a pinpoint assist to set up the second goal on sat, which pinned the opposition in thereafter. Fitter & sharper game by game.

MID – Ceiran Milligan – SOUTHSIDE UNITED

Ceiran was brought in this summer and has hit the ground running , was tremendous on Saturday and was a nightmare for the opposing left back.

MID – Darren Stevenson Jr – PORT GLASGOW BC

Darren was tenacious in midfield, a goal last week, and a delightful assist this week. Man of the match after A solid performance, getting better each week

MID – Bradley Anderson – PORT GLASGOW BC

Bradley has been ever present in the midfield so far this season, another solid performance covering every blade of grass.

MID – Gary McAloon – GREATER CROFTPARK ROSE

Gary has been outstanding in these early stages of the season. On Saturday he controlled the game both going forward and going back. He also chipped in with an assist and scored the goal of the game with a placed shot that flew into the top corner.

MID – Josh Flood – CORINTHIANS

Josh had a brilliant game and covered every inch of the park. The midfielder has had a very good start to the season.

MID – Liam McGeachy – SOUTHSIDE UNITED

Liam was dropped back into middle and his physicality helped us bossed the game , got the opening goal and is very good in both boxes

MID – Thomas Halleran – CORINTHIANS

Thomas was very well marked on Saturday but still found a way to get out of problems and create chances, as well as scoring a goal.

MID – Kevin McFarlane – RUTHERGLEN GLENCAIRN AFC

The big man was excellent in middle of park and again chipping in with some excellent goals and a quality all round performance.

MID – Declan Walsh – PARK SPORTS PROJECT

Declan was superb today working his socks off and being a general nuisance to play against. He topped off his fine performance with two very well taken goals.

MID – Jamie MacLeod – RUTHERGLEN GLENCAIRN AFC

Jmac made us tick in the centre of the park with his close control to his range of passing he controlled the tempo of the game strolled it.

MID – Billy Young – DTI AFC

Man of the match performance. Playing in midfield, dictating play, and getting a goal and 6 assists just shows what a great addition he is to the DTI team. His vision in the game was top notch with him all over the pitch aswell just showed the desire to win and send his team into the championship.

STR – Feliciano Balde – BURNHILL FC

Playing as a number 10 was at the heart of most of Burnhill’s attacks on Saturday. Another player whose started the season well for Burnhill

STR – Gary Arbuckle – CLYDEBANK SMFC

Two goals from the captain to kickstart his season. No doubt many more to come.

STR – Dylan Henry – RUTHERGLEN GLENCAIRN AFC

Competitive debut for Dylan and turns up and puts in a motm performance with a hatty excellent from the no9 well played mate

STR – Kai McDougall – CLYDEBANK RED STAR

Kai was involved in everything good going forward for us on Saturday. 2 goals and 2 assists and on another day he would’ve bagged a few more. Great performance from our number 9.

STR – Rocco McGilivray – TORYGLEN THISTLE

back to number 9 this week Rocco caused chaos for the Nethercraigs back line, running past 3 of them to open the scoring and put his team on the front foot.

STR – Liam Cochrane – QUEENS PARK SFC

Two goals in two games for Liam with his header in the 1-1 draw with Netherton. A tireless performance against a well drilled defence which was rewarded with a fine striker’s finish.

STR – Patrick foxworthy – BUSBY AFC

Patrick was outstanding on sat lone striker roll with us going down to 10 men early in the game really worked hard for the teams and slotted home a last min pen to earn us a vital point to secure our place in the championship great hat trick aswell.

STR – Dylan Murray – DTI AFC

Started the game very well. He was eager to get on the ball and create something everytime he received it.
The bearsden defence couldnt handle him at all.
After getting his first goal he looked hungry to get more and did with getting another hattrick.
A fantastic performance with goals assists and just a delight to watch him play.

STR – David Christie – DTI AFC

After the game midweek, david had something to prove and that he did. His fight and desire to win every ball and chase every ball down went in his favour as he managed to bag 5 goals and a grwat confidence builder for the young striker who needed it.
