One scoreline stood out above the rest in the GCFA this week – here’s our GCFA roving reporter pick for Result of the Week
THE WINNER ⬇️

This week we have a result that really stands out to us as our result of the week.
Winner – Greater Croftpark Rose
THE RESULT

A fantastic result from Greater Croftpark Rose in an extremely tight affair at Waterside park really caught our eye.We saw them win 3-2 in a tight encounter with them producing a tremendous overall performance against one of the main contenders to make it to the Championship.
This big win for GCR will now see them play Championship football after navigating a very tricky qualifying group including teams like Cathcart and Glasgow Ansar.

MANAGERS THOUGHTS ⬇️

Greater Croftpark Rose co manager Scott Burns manager chatted to our roving reporter
Going away to Rosebank United is always a difficult task at the best of times but to go away from home knowing your league future depends on the result makes it just that much more of an important game.
To a man, I thought we were outstanding. We were compact and hard to break down and then we played when we got on the ball.
We fell behind early in the 1st half, after some poor defending from a throw in. However, we responded brilliantly, with Gary McAloon scoring a goal of the season contender then Ross Campbell scoring his first goal in years to put us 2-1 ahead. Captain on the day Alan McCoo sealed the victory with a tremendous header late in the first half.
This important victory seals our place in the Championship and means we have achieved our first target since merging clubs.
The Merger was never going to be easy but i can’t praise the players enough as they have really bonded together during this tricky process.
Here is hoping we can use this momentum and keep pushing forward to make this a great season.
