These post-match reflections give referees the chance to share their perspective on the game, highlighting their value to grassroots football.

What was the m/ost enjoyable part of this match for you today ?
Was a great game between 2 even teams who both tried to play football in good spirits, there was some cards etc which is part of the game but two very good sides
Was there a moment -a goal , a challenge , or even a bit of sportsmanship- that , for you captured the sprit of the Scottish amateur game today
It was a quiet game in terms of this aspect but the number 9 for the away team was a very strong player and had a very good first half

Any standout bit of skill , character, or respect from players/coaches that you think deserves a mention .
I would say the manager of the away side was very well handling his team and was in good control as well as his team playing good football when he came on as a player he kept his team in check.
How would you describe the overall feel of the match – fiery, respectful. end -to – end , or something else ?
I would say the first half was a very one sided game for the away team and in the second half the game became more end to end

Overall , how do you look back on this game from the referee’s perspective ?
Was a very easy game I felt any major decisions I had to make were made well and correct.

Usual background noise and shouts which resulted in the home manager getting a booking

Funniest shout or comment you heard during game
In what was a warm day and all the players asking for water breaks when I gave the players a water break on a warm day the manager shouted “ because. You can’t keep up with play”
Who gave you the biggest headache today, the ball, the players, or the sidelines
Home side players and manager

If you could hand out a “Ref’s man of the match’ who would it be and why?
Away sides number 9

Thanks again to this Ryan & this week’s referees for sharing their views for this new feature . One thing we learned from last season is that not everyone across the GDSFC knew about our coverage — and that’s on us, as we used the year to shape what Footy Focus was going to be. This season we’ll be working harder to raise awareness of all our features, from Referee Corner to special features, so more people can follow along and get involved.
