MR Corinthians reports on the big match

Corinthians V Rossvale Huntershill
The reigning Champions welcomed Premier League new boys to Ravenswood in a match Corinthians really did not want to slip up in.
After taking only one point last weekend it was vital that the Corinthians took all three points this weekend.

However, the home team were well aware that newcomers, Rossvale Huntershill, beat Clydeside Athletic 4-2 last weekend, which put out a strong message to the home side that they were a team who could cause upsets against the established premier league teams, so taking them lightly would not be an option.
The first fifteen mins, Rossvale had most of the game and they looked like an organised, and potentially dangerous side, with a good attacking threat.

However, a short time later Corinthians found themselves 2-0 up from two corners with Mark Murney scoring the first and Darren Punter scoring the second.
Corinthians then looked back to their best with an excellent passing game with good tempo and a couple of other decent attempts on goal. However, after what looked like a Corinthians mistake, Rossvale scored a very good goal.
Any nerves were immediately calmed when Corinthians scored a 3rd through an own goal.
But another Corinthian mistake, giving away a free kick just outside the box, resulted in Rossvale scoring another good goal.
At 3-2 the game was far from over and thankfully for Corinthians Ryan Murney composed himself well and beat the keeper to make it 4-2.
The game was completed by an excellent piece of solo brilliance by Thomas Halleran, who took the ball from the halfway line before beating the keeper. 5-2 Corinthians !!!!!!
Corinthians had many other chances but did not take them and the game finished 5-2.

Special mention has to go to Josh Flood (midfield) who put in a brilliant shift and was all over the park, along with Jacob Kennedy (right back) who was up and down the wing all day.
We welcome Rossvale Huntershill to the premier and we think they will make a great addition to the league.
