OUR NOMINATIONS FOR MIDFIELDER OF THE SEASON 2024/25
From dazzling debuts to vintage performances and more, Social Media HQ selects eight Premier League midfielders who caught our eye in 2024/25
Robin Harvey – GLASGOW ISLANDS

Harvey is such a special player, The midfielder was in great form all season long but his highlight must be the four goals he scored in the one game against Rutherglen Glencairn AFC
His manager Murdo commented below.
Robin moved out of his usual midfield position into a lone striker role against Rutherglen Glencairn due to Zander Macneil and Archie McNicol being unavailable.
Robin has shown time and again he can step up and do any job asked of him (he is even a splendid goalkeeper!) and he gave a masterful display of how to play the role.
Robinio’s strength, speed, athleticism and power were on full show as he gave an experienced defence a torrid time.
His first goal was the pick of the bunch – spinning his marker out wide and showing him a clean pair of heels, cutting in close to the byeline and finishing from a tight angle.
He won countless headers that got the opposition turning and going where they didn’t want to go and he seized his chances mercilessly when they came, delivering his first 4 goal haul for the club.
Eddie Ferns – CORINTHIANS

Eddie Ferns – CORINTHIANS
The Corinthians midfielder was pivotal to the club’s success throughout the 2024/25 season
Ferns has been a tremendous signing this year, the midfield man offers goals and assists and an all round presence in the midfield area.
A goal against PSP on the Saturday and another against Clydebank on the Wednesday – as well as an assist speaks volumes of just how vital Ferns was for his club.
Danny Seenan- CLYDESIDE ATHLETIC

Seenan is such a quality player and his on field commitment is second to none. Not for the first time this season the midfield maestro played through injuries but was instrumental in the Clydeside midfield.
The midfielder loves linking with front players to create chances and can often be found controlling the game for his club in the middle of the park.
Kevin McFarlane – RUTHERGLEN GLENCAIRN AFC

McFarlane is one of the first names on the Rutherglen Glencairn AFC team sheet due to the consistency of his performances over the course of the season.
Kevin scored an important penalty kick which helped his club Rutherglen Glencairn AFC pick up the Premier League Cup when they defeated Premier League Champions Corinthians.
Stephen Donald – BISHOPTON FC

Bishopton captain Stephen Donald has been the one constant within a up and down Bishopton season.
The Bishy midfielder seems to be getting fitter and more influential as the season went on and the veteran midfielder started to become a major influence on his younger teammates.
Donald will be hoping he can keep up the high quality performances when the new season begins.
PAUL HARVEY – NETHERCRAIGS

The youngster caught the eye of social media HQ with several high quality performances for his club Nethercraigs.
The midfielder was also named Nethercraigs young player of the season.
Nerries gaffer David Boyd said ⬇️
Paul has been a main stay since coming in this year and if not for injuries could have had a phenomenal season. He was really missed when he wasn’t available for the squad
Declan Walsh – PARK SPORTS PROJECT

Declan Walsh – PARK SPORTS PROJECT
Declan was another one of PSPs young guns who broke into the squad this season after some of the more experienced PSP players retired at the end of the season
The midfielder has been a revelation for his club and looks like he has been playing for the team for many years.
Walsh has the ability to be a match winner and his late runs into the box coupled with his killer passing make him a regular pick in the PSP midfield.
Stevie Collins – CLYDEBANK SMFC

Stevie Collins has been a very important player for his club this season, the midfielder broke through last season but has really established himself during this campaign.
Collins is like a Duracell bunny in the middle of the park and never fails to cover every blade of grass.
Social media HQ have been very impressed with Collins throughout the season and his manager at Clydebank will hope his midfield man can keep up the good performances.
ANDY LINDSAY TORYGLEN THISTLE

The treble winner was sensational for his club last season helping his club to a haul of three trophies.
Andy is a match winner and on his day he has the ability to destroy any opponent he comes up against.
The Toryglen wing king is more of a modern day winger who can play as an inside forward and chip in with his fair share of goals.
A headline making season was a major factor in Lindsay making the nominations.
KIERAN REDMOND – ROSSVALE HUNTERSHILL

The young winger is another player who dribbles well and excites the fans who watch his team play.
Redmond is a ball player who demands the ball from his teammates and he takes it upon himself to try and make things happen.
A quality debut season for Redmond made him an easy nomination for our ten man shortlist.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Going through all the nominations and trying to come up with only ten midfielders from the talent that we have within the league set up was incredibly difficult.
Social Media HQ feel that we managed to come up with ten fantastic players and their names definitely deserve to be mentioned.
