Declan McCafferty plays for Pollokshields United who have been a part of the Glasgow District Sunday Football Championship for many years.

Shields will play their football in the Premiership this season which looks like it will be top quality this season.

Dec as he is affectionately known to most people is not only looking for success in the future, he has tasted success in the past when he helped is team win the Championship in the 2022/23 season.

Versatility is one of McCafferty’s greatest qualities, throughout his time at the club as he has been in used in so many different positions for the good of the club.

The midfield magician is a genuine leader as his manager at Pollokshields United has given him the capacity on several occasions and infact he is the current vice captain of the club.

Dec was actually captain of his former Saturday team Rosehill United who played in the Glasgow Colleges Saturday Morning Football League.

Nim Roy is clubs manager will be hoping Declan can keep up his standard of performances through the season and help lead his club to another successful campaign.

That new season begins for Pollokshields on Sunday the 10th of August.
