A GDSFC long serving player has recently realised his dream and signed for a Semi Professional Club.




Albion Rovers, nicknamed “The Wee Rovers,” were founded in 1882 and play at Cliftonhill Stadium, also known as The Reigart Stadium.
Rovers were members of the SPFL from 1903 until being relegated to the Lowland Football League (fifth tier) after losing the League Two play-off in 2023.
Experienced Striker Garth will now get to play his football at Cliftonhill in coatbridge when the club are at home. The striker could play infront of 1572 people rather than playing at venues with no crowds.
Garth has just finished a sensational season with GDSFC Sunday club Glasgow North who won their league and gained promotion.




Tony Garth was always a stand out in the GDSFC and his performances never went unnoticed. Garth was called up to the GDSFC select team for two campaigns – picking up two motm’s in two appear ances.
The in demand striker made his name with Glasgow Irish and always a much sought after player amongst teams within the GDSFC.i
Garth has started his Albion Rovers Career very well getting himself on the scoresheet in the process.
The striker will be hoping to keep up his good form in his most competitive season ever.
