Name.. Adam Connor,

Age 20

Clubs – Cambusnethan Thistle AFC

What has your football career looked like?

I didn’t start football until i was 12. I started out as a goalkeeper but as time went on, I realised I was far too short for it 😂. I then played for Mossend as a striker/winger before moving to North Motherwell playing the same positions for a while, before transitioning to full back. I then gave up football in 2022 due to uni/work commitments, before coming back to it in april 2024 when i founded and started playing for camby. I have played in almost all positions, however i have found myself consistently playing left wing back, left back and right wing.

Is their a player or players who have been most influential over your career?
Luke Motherwell, my teammate. We played at North Motherwell together for years, and we have both motivated each other to push through games (even when the other is playing pish). I managed to convince him to join me at my team and he’s a very good player that everyone can learn from.

Do you have a favourite strip you have worn over the years ?

Either the current Camby home kit or my old North Motherwell home kit

Can you describe a particularly memorable goal or victory that stands out in your mind?

I scored a peach at Stenhousemuirs stadium vs Ava Fc. Volleyed it from distance, right over the keeper. This was a friendly, however the goal was very cool for me as i scored it in a stadium with my family in the stands.

Have you generally been injury free throughout your career?

I have never had any serious injuries through football (touch wood), only really had muscular injuries and a boxers fracture to my hand.

Only Cambusnethan Thistle AFC

Who was the best team mate you have/Do play with?

Kai Smith. Didn’t know him before we started playing together, but have since grown to be good pals both on and off the park. Kai is a talented player who is really easy to gel with on the park, giving 100% every game whilst also motivating his team mates. One of the few boys who is there week in week out both at training and at games.

What were your hopes/expectation’s for the 1st season?

I was hoping for at least a mid table season considering we are a brand new team, however it’s been a tough year with low numbers for some games and trouble properly gelling together. Now it feels like things are becoming a lot more positive and everything is starting to fall into place, with some decent results to show for it.

North End FC.
