We like to respect all of our match officials within the Glasgow Colleges Football Association and honouring new additions to our league who help to continually raise our standards is vital to the process.
Our Newcomer of the season is an award for someone who is new to our league and NOT new to refereeing.
Attracting new officials to the league will only ever be a positive for the league set up and we now look at the three referees who have been nominated.
VICTOR CANNON

Victor came into the GCFA as a relatively unknown quantity but he immediately made his mark in our game.
It’s not easy to come into the GCFA as a new official but Victor made it easy as the praise for him just seemed to grow after each game.
Such was Victors high standard of performances within the GCFA he was awarded with a a spot as a linesman for the Jim Harvey Cup Final.

JIM FEERICK

Jim is an old school referee who we wish had joined the Glasgow Colleges Football Association earlier in his illustrious career.
The Experienced referee instantly commanded respect from his first GCFA game and is legend started to grow immediately.
As the GCFA season raged on Feerick was a man that was called on to be part of the big games including being 4th official in the GCFA Cup Final.
CRAIG HAYWORTH

Craig is a referee we personally do not know too much about but his reputation is growing g by the game.
