The GDSFC season kicks off with a blockbuster Super cup clash as Premiership champions Castlemilk Community face off against Champions Cup holders Todholm – and we’ve caught up with both managers ahead of the showdown.

First match of the season and it’s a cup final—how’s the mood in camp?
Mood is confident as we always are going into every game
What does playing in the Super Cup mean for your club?
Big occasion obviously winners of 2 good trophies last year coming together
Do you see this match as a reward for last season’s efforts or the first test of the new one?
First test of a new one in my opinion

How’s the squad looking in terms of fitness and any new faces settling in?
Squad looks good a lot of my boys keep themself fit and play over 2 days at the weekends so always at a relatively good standard
As an amateur manager, what does an occasion like a Super Cup final mean to you personally?
Its a good occasion especially in the summer get a good crowd and get the buzz back for competitive games again
Who’s looking sharp in pre season and could make the difference?
Joseph lang boy looking ripped and fit been running a lot and in great shape he’s a big asset to us

What kind of challenge are you expecting from your opponents?
Huge challenge from todholm always seem to hang in games against us and very tough opponents

Would winning the Super Cup set the tone for the rest of the season?
Definitely sets the tone and first bit of silverware up for grabs
