Saturday will see the final weekend of pre season for most of the teams within the Glasgow Colleges Football Association.

More importantly for Clydebank Red Star we will see the start of the Clydebank Red Star invitational tournament.

Taking part in the tournament will be six established GCFA teams with newly promoted Clydebank Red Star being the high rated club taking part.

Location and Times

– John Browns Playing Fields (Pitches 2 & 3), Barns Street, Clydebank, G81 1AA

– Registration- Between 9am and 9:15am

– First Matches- 10am kick off

– Tournament Concludes- 1:20pm

Rules

– All matches will be 30 minutes. 15 minutes each half.

– Rolling subs will be permitted.

– No limit on squad size.

– During the group stage, if teams are drawing on points after every game has been played, goal difference will be the decider. If drawing on goal difference, then H2H will be the decider.

– During the semi-finals and final, if the game is a draw after full-time, the tie will be decided on penalties.

Points to note

– Due to issues with the roof in one of the changing room buildings and a match being booked on Pitch 1 prior to the event being booked, changing facilities will be unavailable prior to the event. Please ensure that your players come ready in their kit or are prepared to get changed in the car. Changing/showering facilities will be available after the tournament.

– There will be medals and trophies for the winner of the tournament. The trophy will be available for pictures ectafter the event but should be returned to myself before leaving the premises.

– There will be a stall on the day for registration. This stall will also sell water/juice/healthy snacks for players and water/juice and snacks for spectators, with all proceeds going to the Beatson Cancer Charity. There will also be donation buckets there for any coaches/players/spectators who would like to make a donation to the charity.
